Hey Erik - You won't really ever know what rooms are safe until you've been there / talked with friends you trust who have been there. My best advice is if you feel uncomfortable about the people or the game, get out of there. As for getting in to a room, I have a general policy on this blog that I will not give out names / locations of rooms for my own safety / that of the people who come to the site, but definitely ask around among your poker playing friends in the city. Your best bets are (1) go to AC or CT and get to know people who play there who also play in the city, you're bound to meet someone who knows a game, or (b) to PM people on various poker forums (like twoplustwo) who mention underground games. They will be unlikely to help you out without meeting you first, but you never know. Good luck out there!
